… and it was amazing and deserves a nice blog entry. Am too preoccupied with my teeth again right now though. This time it’s another wisdom tooth and I think a corner broke off when I munched on Skittles. Damn it! It hurts in a really weird way and I’m pretty certain that it used to have at least 3 corners sticking out and now it’s just 2. Argggg! Seriously, 25 years without any trouble (except braces and milk teeth that sometimes still hadn’t fallen out even though the new teeth were starting to show) and now 2 out of my 4 poor wisdom teeth are bugging me that much. Grand – not. Damn it!
Sorry, I’m sure you are more interested in London than my teeth but it’s frickin’ annoying and painful. I think I might even have to go see a dentist here instead of waiting three to go to my normal one or even go to whichever dentist is on call next week when I’m in Germany (cause it’s a bankholiday and a weekend). 🙁
Teething
Oh bloody hell. My wisdom teeth are growing again and my gums are pretty sore and the bloody pain of the teeth cutting through the gums is pretty bad. It actually goes up and down my head and reallllly bugs me. Ahhh! Might pop in an advil seeing that they’re so pretty anyways (the liquigels anyways). I’m of course scared that it might be that black thing that I suspect is caries but shouldn’t that constantly hurt? It also feels more like the pain is in my gums than in my tooth. Owww!
The stomach is also kind of upset, rumbles a bit too much for my taste. Hopefully that’s better soon, too though. My dinner was a choice of either pasta with tomato and bellpepper sauce or some curry like tikka masala, bhalti curry etc. I figured pasta would be less spicey but wow, that sauce was hot!
Stressful day at work but I still got out at 5:30pm so that was alright. Can’t wait for the long weekend ahead though as I’ll be in London! Yay! My first time ever there! Well, I have been to Heathrow and Gatwick and on the road between the two airports but never to the city. I’m really excited! 🙂
Monday Again…
Had a really nice weekend with my friend Jens here. We went out for pizza on Friday, then walked around Temple Bar with a not sooo yummy ice cream from Burger King and then had a cocktail at Cafe en Sienne. Saturday we wanted to have rolls for breakfast but they were super moldy (and I had just bought them the day before at ALDI and they said best before june07!!) but luckily I had bread, too. Anyways, ALDI gave me my money back without fussing about it and then we headed to town to do the Guinness Storehouse tour. It was nice and we got a pint of Guinness (and the glasses ;-)) plus the great view from the top of the building. Interestingly enough, they use German hops for their brewing!
More sightseeing and shopping downtown after that and then we had Indian for dinner. Yum! After a gazillion night photos from Jens we took the bus back home.
Sunday we took the train to Dalkey where all the rich and famous live. We couldn’t find a fish & chips place and so had to eat normal food at a normal place but then afterwards we walked along the coast and Jens got really frustrated by seeing all these rich people’s houses and cars. ;-). Ice-cream cheered him up a bit though I hope. Took the train and the bus and a taxi back home and then sent Jens off to the airport with that same taxi. Nothing else really happened. I went to bed at 9pm because I was so tired from the week and the weekend. This air mattress that my visitors sleep on is so annoying when they turn around and Jens turned a lot during the night so I kept waking up. I feel pretty awake today though. 🙂
My sister decided to go to a family from Connecticut in Glastonbury and not to the one in Texas. How far from you is that Uti? I’d have gone to TX but that’s just me and it’s obviously her year and if she’s so confident that this family is loads better than the other then I wish her all the best for it! But hey, no pool in the backyard! 😉
Other shocking news are that I might have caries! I found this black, tiny strip in my wisdom tooth! Ahhhh! I’ve never had caries before so I am really shocked! It’s no wonder really because the gums were covering it half way but not completely for a long time so obviously food came to the tooth but I couldn’t reach it with my toothbrush to get it out from under the gum pieces. Arg! It doesn’t hurt or anything but I can’t get the black off by brushing or poking it with a toothpick. Hmpf! Will buy some fluorine stuff later today to try and keep it small until I’m back home and can go to the dentist. I’m just so dissappointed! 🙁
Rain Makes Me Sick
Yeah, I think the incubation time is over and I’m now with a lovely cold including sore throat, drowsiness, cough and general ill feeling. Thank you bloody rain. Bought some Benylin at the pharmacy here as that was the only thing that has day and night capsules. Let’s see how it works. I just hope being away from Saturday until Monday this weekend will still be great fun!
Well, today was also the day that I had my phone interview for the trainee programm with my company. Good girl that I am, I had thought about some potential questions and good answers to them and had typed those up last night. I had wanted to print them and my resume out this morning before the interview. Well, when I got to the office and turned on my computer, I got an error message and couldn’t log on. Ahhhhhh! They didn’t fix it until a minute before the interview so I was all nerved wrecked. I had emailed the files to my work account but I have it set up so that my private mail is straight forwarded to a seperate folder. Well, I had forgotten that I included my own private email address in that one, too, so the files weren’t in my inbox and then my phone rang. Well, the number I had given them aparently didn’t work so the lady called my German cell and I had to give her my Irish cell number to get going.
The interview itself I think went quite horrible, like I didn’t even mention private labels when she asked about problems with retailers *sighs*. Then I couldn’t come up with good examples of where I had implemented something new or when I motivated people. Bleh. With all that IT and phone stuff going on it almost feels like some higher force wants me to not get this job.
Ugh, I have to do laundry tomorrow so Rich has some clean sheets for the air mattress, which is still inflated BTW so we won’t have to go through this pumping ordeal again. 😉 But I just want to read a bit and then sleep really early so I that this cold will get better or at least not get horrible but it feels like it is going to be one of those royal buggers. :-/
